PRIVATE SECTOR ASSISTANCE
1. Name of Organisation : Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID)
International Seminar Support Scheme (ISSS)
2. Assistance Scheme/Program : The program provides for funding up to a maximum of AUD$30,000 for any one seminar to assist a person from a developing country who is in a position to use the experience to influence development activities in their country. Eligible costs may include airfares, accommodation and living expenses but do not include registration fees, tours, training courses or non core activities. Only the organiser of the seminar can apply on behalf of the participant and seminars must be initiated or co-sponsored by an Australian agency.
3. Criteria : Participants can come from any developing country.
To be successful applicants will need to demonstrate that the seminar for which AusAID funding is sought will contribute in a practical way to the economic development and/or social advancement of developing countries in general:
They will need to demonstrate that tangible outcomes will be produced from their attendance; and seminars must be intellectually respectable, rigorous and credible.
