  1. Forum Secretariat: The current focus of the Forum Secretariat is on encouraging policy dialogue among Forum Island Countries, with the secretariat centred on the office of the Economic Infrastructure Adviser. The Forum Secretariat has concentrated on scanning the international and regional developments in telecommunications and information with briefing of relevant regional officials and Ministers in the annual regional meetings.The Forum in April 1999 coordinated the meeting of the Forum Ministers of Communications which resulted in the release of  a 1999 Action Plan based on a Vision Statement for the Forum Island Countries

Pacific Island Telecommunications Association (PITA): Service providers and some regulatory authorities in the Pacific have formed PITA to share and exchange ideas on the development of telecommunications in the region.

Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC): This non-profit organisation is made up mainly of service providers operating in the Asia-Pacific region. PTC has been assisting in the establishment of PITA. Most of PITA members are also PTC members.

Pacific Islands Broadcasting Association (PIBA): This is an organisation which originally comprised of the radio broadcasting organisations in the Pacific to discuss and exchange ideas on broadcasting. The advent of television has led to the membership PIBA being expanded to include the television stations of the Pacific. Self-regulatory principles for radio and television broadcasting and transmission have yet to be developed.

Pacific Islands News Association (PINA): This is an organisation of journalists and organisations in the news media industry. The activities of the organisation have been actively supported by UNESCO in the Pacific. The current focus of PINA is on maintaining independence of the media from any direct political censorship and encouraging improvements in standards of media reporting. Whilst there have been discussions of self-regulation of the regional news media, no explicit set of principles have been set by PINA
